About
Designed for forwards, defensemen, and goalies looking to take their overall performance and understanding of the game to a higher level. This camp will focus on increasing players’ speed, agility, puck handling skills, shooting techniques, and hockey IQ. On and off-ice sessions will be high-intensity training with attention to the details. Each day will consist of 2 – 3 hours on the ice, plus an off-ice program that will include: conditioning, speed, agility, flexibility training, video and chalk talk, and team building exercises.
PLAYERS
- Power skating with dynamic edge-work and upper body control, balance, stride efficiency, deceptive maneuvers, and over-speed training.
- Offensive creativity, puck protection, shooting in stride, deflections/tips/screens, breakaways, one-timers, decking, forehand and backhand passing and receiving, and battling.
- Reading the play and decision making, creating time and space, battling, puck movement and procession, odd man situations, offensive and defensive zone play.
- Offensive, defensive, and neutral zone play.
- End of session controlled scrimmages and small area games where players will utilize all skills and understandings of game situations focused on through the week.
GOALIES
- Positioning, depth and save selection.
- Movement and technique.
- Puck tracking.
- Game type scenarios.
