Hockey 101

NSA’s Hockey 101 Camp is a half day camp catered for players and goalies aged  12 years and younger.  This camp will focus on helping players build confidence on their edges, puck handling skills, basic shooting techniques, and gain a deeper understanding of the game. Over  1.5 hours of ice each day plus and off-ice program that will include agility, conditioning, dryland skills, video, chalk-talk, and team building exercises.

• Designed for younger players and goalies that have basic fundamental skills and skating ability.

• Focus on developing all core fundamental skills and aspects of the game.
• Proper skating and stride development to achieve maximum speed and agility in both forward and backward skating.
• Stickhandling and puck control techniques that include proper hand position, hand/eye coordination, and puck protection.
• Passing development that will increase player's overall ability to catch and receive passes effectively while moving.
• Shooting techniques that include forehand and backhand shots.
• Goalies will receive specialized goaltending training focusing on the fundamentals such as skating, positioning, lateral movement, save selection and proper butterfly technique.
